Sent this morning (10/10/11):Breitbart: Congressman Issa Announces New Subpoenas for Holder, and 100 Fast and Furious Guns Show up in El Paso
WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder responding to his letter of October 7. The text of Chairman Issa’s letter to Attorney General Holder is below:
Dear Attorney General Holder:
From the beginning of the congressional investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, the Department of Justice has offered a roving set of ever-changing explanations to justify its involvement in this reckless and deadly program. These defenses have been aimed at undermining the investigation. From the start, the Department insisted that no wrongdoing had occurred and asked Senator Grassley and me to defer our oversight responsibilities over its concerns about our purported interference with its ongoing criminal investigations. Additionally, the Department steadfastly insisted that gunwalking did not occur. Read the entire letter...

Last week, Attorney General Eric Holder tried to stall the momentum building behind the Fast and Furious investigation by submitting a letter to Senate and Congressional investigators in which he continued to plead ignorance, and in which he did his best to undercut the progress of the investigation to this point. 'Fast and Furious' shows Team Obama's contempt for real reporters and press - The Baltimore Sun
I won't retrace the whole issue here, but CBS News is long overdue for some praise at this blog for investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson excellent work on the Department of Justice's "Operation Fast and Furious."
The blowback from the White House and DOJ has been petty, nasty and has failed to responsibly address the serious charges Attkisson's reporting raises. This is exactly the White House contempt for the press that I wrote about shortly after Obama's inauguration. It's the White House I came to know when I criticized it for its war against Fox News in 2009.

Issa Issues Subpoena to Holder in Fast and Furious Investigation
This sure is a BFD, TCL, thanks for posting the Issa video, I missed him on TV yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe letter he wrote to this criminal is GREAT! This murderer should be jailed for treason. I still doubt he will resign....time will tell. barry will probably throw him under the bus, but he has many other stooges to take his place. Thanks goodness for Mr. Issa, he's great!
That guy needs to be arrested. Love the title!
ReplyDeleteGreat title! A real man - an honorable man - would resign. But Holder isn't an honorable man. Congress needs to keep up the pressure and force him to resign.
ReplyDeletelets see how they cover this up CL!
ReplyDeleteHolder and Obama will continue to do the wrong thing. It's in their character.
ReplyDeleteHi Bunni:
ReplyDeleteWith the elections coming up, it will be interesting to see how long it takes before Obama cans Holder...or allows him to resign. Of course, it will all be blamed on those GOP racists, Issa & Grassley.
Hi Odie:
ReplyDeleteAnd they should throw away the key.
Hi Angel:
ReplyDeleteCover it up or invent another crisis to distract away from it. These thugs have got to go.
Hi Opie:
ReplyDeleteVery "flawed" characters, both of them. They are cut from the same cloth.
Thank you for this TCL. "It Don't Make Sense" posted on this topic a while back but I was left with the impression that the guns 'walked' as the result of common criminality by staff of the ATF.
ReplyDeleteThat this was an official program of unmentionable stupidity is beyond belief but let's hope that all senior people involved get sacked and, where appropriate, prosecuted and gaoled.
Hi Teresa:
ReplyDeleteIt seems the Dems don't follow the same playbook when it comes to scandals. If this was a GOP administration, he would have resigned by now.
Hi banned:
ReplyDeleteI've posted several times on this story. There is a theory that the administration did "Operation Fast & Furious" to help in their efforts to weaken our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. This administration believes in never letting a crisis go to waste. So if they can cause an out-of-control gun crisis without incriminating themselves, they can use it as a reason for more gun control. Problem is, if that was their plan, it severely backfired.
This July 2011 article (below) talks about the executive order Obama implemented regarding gun control:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/obama-executive-orders-impose-new-gun-rules/ It's funny to read this and then realize that the government was encouraging the gun shops to sell the guns to the straw buyers who in turn sold them to the cartels.
Here's a post I did with some background:

Get Dat Sucka. Please. TIA
ReplyDeleteKid:
ReplyDeleteI can't wait till they do get him.
Sorry, but I don't know what TIA means???
Issa is really putting the pressure on Holder. Good. Holder better comply with the subpoena or else he'll be in bigger trouble than he's already in for lying under oath.
ReplyDeleteTeresa:
ReplyDeleteThe more pressure, the better.
