24: Another Season In The Can

A humorous 24 Parody:



Last night was the Season 7 finale of 24 and I've dedicated this post as a tribute to one of the most popular shows on TV.

"Humorous" is one thing the real show 24 is NOT. The story takes place in 24 hours and is always full of life and death situations with many twists and turns along the way. The story lines are exciting, with a "tinge" of possibility thrown in. That, and how Jack Bauer saves the day, draws the audience to the TV every Monday night.

Jack Bauer is a guy who puts his life on the line for his country, does everything in his power to get the job done, yet his country never appreciates the effort. The government puts him on trial and even then, in the midst of his hearings, it sends him on a dangerous mission.

The National Review On-Line article by Marc Cerasini entitled, A Rogue By Any Other Name tries to figure out what makes Jack Bauer tick.

Jack Bauer is an idealist. Despite the tragic reality of his world, Jack still believes in the dream of America, in protecting that shining city on a hill where there is freedom and justice for all. This faith compels Jack to act with society’s best interests at heart, despite the fact that a percentage of that society will always disdain him.

If you watch 24 you know Jack uses some of those "enhanced interrogation methods" Nancy Pelosi keeps denying she knew anything about. Actually, waterboarding would be considered a "walk in the park" compared to Jack's methods of extracting the needed information.

I won't ruin the ending of the finale if you haven't seen it yet, but it's a 2 hour episode that's action packed. And even though you can sort of figure out what's going to happen at the very end of the show, it's still a great story.

Finally, I'm happy to report that there weren't any actors from the show pitching Global Warming BS commercials this week. What was up with that anyway?
