The "Hush Rush" Doctrine

Freedom of Speech is promised to us by the First Amendment of our Constitution. Americans, whether conservative, moderate or liberal, know this and have taken it for granted . One of the things that may rear it's ugly head soon is the "Fairness Doctrine". You've been hearing about it on the radio and TV. Whether it's brought back as the "Fairness Doctrine" or as something called "Localization", there is a very real possibility that the liberals in Congress will try to reinstate it in one form or another. This is in direct opposition to the First Amendment and I believe it's on the liberal's agenda.

I am a big talk radio fan. You may be one too, or you may be an occasional listener. You may be someone who depends on the internet or conservative news magazines to keep you informed. Whichever it is, people use one of these outlets for the "real story" they never hear on the morning TV shows or on the 6 PM evening news. Unfortunately, cable news (with the exception of Fox News Channel) and most newspapers are in the tank with the liberal agenda, too. True journalism has been dying for years and the reporting of the 2008 Presidential Election drove the final nail into it's coffin.

We need a source of information to reveal the things Congress and the President try to push though in the dark of night. I believe that, if not for Rush Limbaugh and the other conservative TV and radio talk show hosts, we would never know (before it's too late) what these politicians are up to. We can give the conservative talk show hosts a lot of credit, too, for mobilizing the American people to take action to stop bills like the Amnesty Bill (which was defeated), and make us all aware of the pork in the Stimulus Package. I certainly give them the credit for getting me interested enough to write a blog . With the Obama administration at the helm, pushing their socialist agenda, the work done by the conservative show hosts is going to be indispensible.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) recently gave an interview to liberal talk show host, Bill Press (see link below). She is in favor of re-instating the "Fairness Doctrine". It should be noted that her husband is the founder of multiple failed liberal talk networks. Many liberal talk radio shows were cancelled because no one listened and their sponsors weren't making any money. There are some liberal radio shows that are successful, but the "Fairness Doctrine" is not aimed at them. It's aimed at conservative ideas and those that promote them. It is aimed at the opposition. And don't think they won't expand it to include other conservative media outlets besides radio.

I included a link describing the confirmation hearing of Attorney General Eric Holder. In it he cannot give a straight answer when asked about the "Fairness Doctrine". I find this deeply disturbing.

The bottom line is, I am going to fight to keep Rush, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and all of the other people who we depend on for the truth, on the air and speaking out. I hope you will support these people when the liberal politicians move to shut them up. It's coming soon.

There is a petition link at the bottom of the page. Please sign it if you want to stop the un-"Fairness Doctrine".

The following article and video help explain this matter. When you read the article, note how vague then Attorney General nominee, Eric Holder, is about the "Fairness Doctrine" when asked questions during his confirmation hearings.

This article is about the interview of Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), whose husband is a liberal radio executive. Sen. Stabenow states support for the re-instatement of the "Fairness Doctrine".
