Romney Blames Loss on Obama’s ‘Gifts’ to Minorities and Young Voters

A week after losing the election to President Obama, Mitt Romney blamed his overwhelming electoral loss on what he said were big “gifts” that the president had bestowed on loyal Democratic constituencies, including young voters, African-Americans and Hispanics.
In a conference call on Wednesday afternoon with his national finance committee, Mr. Romney said that the president had followed the “old playbook” of wooing specific interest groups — “especially the African-American community, the Hispanic community and young people,” Mr. Romney explained — with targeted gifts and initiatives.
“In each case they were very generous in what they gave to those groups,” Mr. Romney said.

The comment by 4Duckling (below) exemplifies the thought process of Americans who voted for President Obama.  They think it's their "RIGHT" to get free stuff.  This is not news to conservatives.

This is precisely why he lost -- he thinks citizens' rights are 'gifts'. Don't these guys see that a healthy citizenry that meets its full potential, increasing its spending power, is a plus for everyone, most of all the 1%? Very short sighted indeed.

Here's the $16 trillion dollar question...

Is it possible to turn the entitlement mentality around?

This is a parody with a punch.

  1. Now Romney knows money can't buy everything! Despite all odds, our President prevailed. He still has an uphill battle fighting a Red House which has blocked his every move in an attempt to squash his goals of bringing the Middle Class equal pay, women’s rights, gay rights and affordable healthcare. The Bush Administration drove our economy into a swift nose dive and Obama is still the patsy. Watch conservative hands paint him in Blackface with a visual commentary of how Barack has been bamboozled at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/10/bamboozling-obama.html

  2. "Free stuff" won out over freedom and liberty. America is screwed up. We need to pray and turn to God to help save the United States.

  3. Make EVERYONE pay taxes. Even if it's only a dollar a month. The poor should fill out those forms at the end of the year and write that check. Maybe with that they'll get it. YES, I'm saying TAX THE POOR!

    We love you Bunni!

    1. That's exactly what should be done. Everyone pay something...it's only FAIR...and FAIR is what Obama is all about, isn't he?

      Love to Bunni, too.

  4. So where was Mittens with all this direct talk during the campaign? The country club dining room GOP has lost to the Saul Alinsky radical Socialist twice in a row and should never get another nominee.

    1. To complicate matters, the main stream media will never be fair to anyone the Right puts forward in a campaign.

    2. Of course they never will ... which is why the GOP needs to put forward straight talking bare-knuckle street fighters. Newt would have been the better nominee on the present playing field.

  5. As long as Romney and his followers believe this is why he lost, the GOP may never solve it's problems. Just think. Of the last 6 presidential elections, only once did the GOP candidate win the popular vote. That's a problem and blaming it on people who allegedly want free stuff, the mainstream media, etc. won't make things better.

By the way, I checked my apartment, my car, my mailbox and didn't find the "free stuff" I'm supposedly getting.

    1. As Senator Rubio said...""our mission should not be to deny government benefits to people who need them," but the party should work to ensure "less people need government benefits."

That is my hope for the future.

  6. TCL, Happened to be out and about today while the resident moron called in to the radio station to tell us he thinks the government should take over Hostess, to make it an efficiently run organization which serves the public and continues to produce those wonderful products. And this guy is not a put on. He's been calling for years. No one does that, not even Corporal Kilnger. And he's gay.

    It's a mental disease.

    1. I heard that there was a movement for Obama to take over Hostess. I doubt Michelle will go for him bailing out Twinkies. Not "healthy" enough for her standards.

  7. Romney is correct: Free stuff wins.

Obama and his media minions successfully demonized Romney -- that's the reason that Romney lost, IMO.

We live in "America" now -- not in America.

    1. I left your comment up because it is a typical liberal troll comment. Nothing of value, just call someone a vulgar name.
