OK, Anyone For Santorum yet?

This is exactly why I cannot let myself back a GOP candidate yet.  I want so much to LIKE somebody enough to throw my all out support behind him.  Kind of like I did for Marco Rubio in 2010.  But I just can't do it yet.

There is no perfect candidate, I know.  The two GOP candidates who I like the best, Santorum & Bachmann, haven't been doing very well in the polls.  Maybe it's not too late for them...especially if the top guys keep getting exposed as not being very conservative.  Sort of like this...

Newt:  FDR Was The ‘Greatest President’ Of The 20th Century

  1. Newt is a walking embarrassment.

  2. As you say, none are perfect. My two favorites are the same as yours. Push come to shove, I would even embrace Mittens (who I can't stand) to beat Obama. When it gets to our primary, we vote for our favorite left standing. That's all we can do. In the general, we vote for the Republican because we must!

  3. Hi Trestin:
I would still like to hear Newt debate Obama just for the fun of it, but the last thing we need is another progressive in the WH. Don't get me wrong, I'll vote for him in a general election if he's the last man standing against Obama, but in the primary...not so much.

You're on the same page as me. I pray every night that the best person wins...that's all we can do...vote and PRAY!

    I'm right there with ya.

I like Bachmann and Santorum, but their poll numbers stink. Still, I think Michelle has a shot at surprising folks in Iowa. She's the only GOP presidential candidate to participate in the Iowa caucus who was actually born in Iowa. Ever, actually, but I could be wrong there.

That may count with caucus participants. Santorum? Toast.

Well, it ain't over until it's over. I'm not expecting Santorum or Bachmann to suddently forge ahead or anything like that. I'll be voting for whoever gets the GOP nomination, and can only hope that we get the best candidate...hopefully a conservative one.

  11. Ditto in support of whomever is left standing.

I held my nose and voted for the last nominees:

    *Bob Dole
    *Dubya
    *Dubya (again)
*McCain - not only did I have to hold my nose on this one, but a gas mask was in order...

Santorum is a more consistent conservative than some of the others.

  14. Both Santorum and Bachmann most closely represent my views, and I would truly love either of them to prevail and grab the GOP nod.

HOWEVER, like ElRushbo, I also live in Realville, and will not curl into a fetal position if they don't.

Historical note: when Mike Huckabee came out on top in Iowa in 2008, his poll numbers were 'Santorum-esque' going in, so 'stuff' happens...I still say Michelle may pull a rabbit out of an Iowan hat.

Well, time will tell who will rise to the top. Winning Iowa doesn't mean winning the nomination.

  16. I am all in for Santorum. If he can just pull more from his side though. Compared to Tweedledee, Tweedledum, and the clown in office, he is golden. Actually, even without those distractions he is good. He just has to figure out how to get his message out.

Some of the problem is too few of the wrong types of candidates and too many, ideologically, of the right kind. The left part of the party can garner that part of the vote, the other part is too split to achieve critical mass on a truly conservative candidate. Well, and a msm which is trying to tear the party apart and a "leadership" that is 'leading from behind'. I guess the "leadership" must think Obama IS successful.

I can't believe, after nearly four years of Zero, that two leftwingers of the party are in the lead. That more than baffles me. I am truly considering giving up on Americans. What do you call an idiot with two black eyes? Nothing, he's already been told twice!

  17. Yo can vote for Santorum now.

We created a scoring system on the top 6 more important issues of the campaign and graded each Republican candidate on each of these issues, with a final total score on all seven candidates. It is aimed at the average electorate and the political "center".

Simply, the total highest score is who one should vote for in the primaries.

If you disagree with the scores given to individual candidates, just give us your own scores. We will publish the Winner - "Top Pundit of the Bloggers" - that comes closest to the actual results in January after the first 3 primaries. Go to www.RAmericaChronicle.com and start scoring.

  18. John Galt, is that based on what they say or what they've done. Because what they say is about worthless. You realize that I hope
