Parents of Disabled Children Forced to Join SEIU and Pay Dues

Graphic by B_Oceander

I heard this story yesterday morning. I was horrified to think that parents taking care of their disabled children could be FORCED to pay union dues to SEIU because the parents chose to stay at home and care for their children themselves. Not only is it appalling that these folks are being forced against their will to join the union, we also know those union dues are a money laundering scheme for the Democrat Party.

If you haven't heard this story yet, be ready to get really po'd.

Parents Taking Care of Disabled Kids Made to Pay

What would you say if you found out someone was taking money - without permission - from medicaid checks meant for disabled children? Well, it's happening to thousands of families all over Michigan right now. This money is being deducted automatically by a state agency and given directly to a union, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
Whether they like it or not, these people are classified as state employees because they provide care for their children, who would have otherwise ended up in a nursing home. Each month, they see a portion of their Medicaid checks siphoned off to a union that provides them with no benefits. One local couple says they've tried to get out, but to no avail. Fox 2's Andrea Isom talked to them tonight, along with an expert who's been trying to end this questionable practice for years.

  1. Yea, I heard this on the radio last week; the News media is slow to expose--maybe forced since it was discussed on a talk show on the radio. Letters to State Legislators on a Lawyers Letter Head, with a quote about some law stating something about a law that is strictly forbidding any such siphoning of Gov. money to any organization. There is something somewhere-just will take some research.

  2. This little trick of the trade is common to almost every union: payroll deductions of dues.

This injustice would end quickly if union dues were collected from the members after they had cashed their checks.

For every union. Back in the days of the robber barons and widespread child labor, of course the workers would gladly hand over the cash to the union steward in return for some protection of abuses of the work force by these industrial thugs of old.

But those days are long, LONG gone. The need for union protection against robber barons vanished long ago. Now unions are just parasites, and are simply a line item on the total cost of labor, and provide nothing.

  3. TSWS:
I hope they put a stop to this thievery soon. Those people in the video have enough to worry about, let alone being robbed by SEIU.

  4. Fredd:
I never belonged to a union and I do believe in years past they served a purpose. Now the only service they perform is funneling money to the Dems and lining their own pockets.

  5. No wonder the unions are money making machines. They are using dirty practices to get their money. This ticks me off. These forced dues need to be stopped.

  6. The hits just keep on coming.

I will never buy a GM or Chrysler product and will never any provide support to public unions of any sort.

Does anyone see any union member voting advantages away? We are going the way of Greece. Prepare yourself for it for when it comes.

  7. wow this is beyond the pale CL..another day another lib disaster hun!..have a nice nite my friend:)

  8. Teresa:
I knew this story would make people ticked off. We should be.

  9. Kid:
There are going to be a lot of surprised people when the you-know-what hits the fan.

  10. I, too, was disgusted when I saw this on Fox News. But then nothing surprises me anymore.

  11. Carol:
So sad that it's gotten to the point where we're not surprised at what the left does.

  12. HAPPIEST THANKSGIVING!..AND thank you for bein you!:)

  13. Angel & TSWS:

    Happy Thanksgiving to you both.
