Rep. Jackson is all for Prez Obama's habit of bypassing Congress to get his agenda passed.   And Jackson has the perfect plan to solve America's unemployment problem and the financial woes of all cities and states.  Now if he can just get Obama to go along with it.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Calls on Government to Hire All Unemployed Americans for $40,000 Each

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has offered his own $804 billion jobs plan that calls on the federal government to hire the nation’s 15 million unemployed Americans for jobs paying roughly $40,000 each, and bail out all the states and cities facing budget crises.
In an interview with the Daily Caller on Wednesday, the Illinois Democrat applauded President Obama for directing his staff to greenlight job-creating initiatives without congressional approval after his $447 billion jobs bill was defeated in the Senate this week.
“Now we’re making some progress,” Jackson said, comparing the legislative gridlock in Congress to the states that seceded from the union during the Civil War.
"We've seen Congress is in rebellion," he said, "determined to wreck or ruin at all costs."
Jackson said the government’s direct hiring of the nation’s 15 million unemployed Americans would cost $600 billion.
“It could be a five-year program,” he said. “For another $104 billion, we bail out all of the states. For another $100 billion, we bail out all of the cities.”
“We put people to work cleaning up communities. We put people to work through a civilian conservation corps, through a Works Progress Administration because the hour demands it,” he said.
“And as more people work, they pay taxes, they pay taxes into the 4th quarter, they buy wares, they buy homes, they meet their obligations and our economy begins to work its way out of this protracted recession,” he continued. “That’s the only way out of this crisis. And I hope the president begins to continue to exercise extraordinary constitutional means based on the history of Congresses that have been in rebellion in the past.”

  1. wow..what a brain trust we have there...I'm guessing we'd just print money on an Lexmark to pay these folks with. I'm wondering, though, if he's thought about the cost of the necessary Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas bonus for each? Well, these are tough times, so maybe that portion could be abandoned, but I'd hate for anyone to go through the holidays with a turkey...DANG, back to the drawing board, Jesse Jr!

Isn't this just typical of the liberal mentality? He's up for re-election...guess there's a lot of unemployed people in his district. What is particularly troubling is the fact that this administration has no qualms about taking Congress out of the loop, and even a Congressman thinks it's a good idea. With that kind of thinking, why bother getting re-elected...his job isn't needed anymore. King Obama rules.

  5. What is it about these libtards? Will they ever understand if the private sector hires these people they will pay taxes and not cost tax money. Make it a business friendly atmosphere and there will be jobs again.

  6. Hi Odie:
Rep. Jackson is either stupid or it's part of his/their plan to make the American people even more dependent on the Fed Govt for everything, including their jobs. I think Rep. Jackson is just reiterating what the Obama Admin wishes they could do. As many people dependent on the government gives the Dems their job security when election time rolls around.

  7. This libtard creep is INSANE, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His dad is jesse jackson, a big race bating, affirmative action jerk who has been shaking down the federal government since the sixties, if not before. They also have a big franchise contract with a beer bottler, and threatened to launch a nationwide boycott unless their demands were met.

They hate capitalism, unless it's for their own,
and jr. also was caught with a mistress. I think he will be voted out during his next election run, so he's going whole hog with the crazy.

  8. Hi Bunni:
I hope you're right about him being voted out, because the Congress sure doesn't need any more like him.

It's so obvious who these people are. It wasn't so long ago that people hid the fact that they were a socialist or communist. Now they wear it as a badge of honor.

  13. Lets see take our tax money to pay the unemployed-and the new Gov. employees pay 28 percent of that back into the tax pot, I see a BIG Deficit. What will the Dems do? Ohh, yea, hat in hand to the China Gov. to pay our Gov. Employees.
