TCL's Rule 5 Post of the Summer

That's about as riské as this blog gets.
So much for Rule 5.

The Conservative Lady blog will be taking a break for the next few weeks. We're hitting the "bucket list" and checking off a place we've been wanting to visit for really long time - Alaska.  The trip includes some of TCGuy's "bucket list items", so please say a prayer for our survival.  Seriously, I agreed to a few things on this trip that scare the heck out of me...thankfully, riding on a polar bear isn't one of them.

Have any of you visited Alaska?  I'd love to hear about your experience, so please leave a comment!

If internet access is available along the way, I'll drop in to say "hi".

Thank you for taking the time to visit The Conservative Lady blog.  I really appreciate it.
See you soon!

Check out my Blog Roll for some great bloggers.

  1. Hey TCL - my Mom & Dad did an Alaskan cruise a few years back. They raved - said Alaska is amazing. Have a great time!

  2. I was expecting a cartoon pic of an old lady in an "old lady bathing suit", lol! Love the polar bear. Best of luck in your adventures. I don't know much about Alaska. Fill me in when you get back.

  5. Hi Sol:
We arrived in Fairbanks today and so far I can see why your parents like Alaska. Just the views from the airplane were magnificent...we saw Mt. McKinley...just so beautiful.

I'm running out of "sexy"-not cartoon characters. I was lucky to find the polar bear lady. Thanks for the good wishes.

Don't worry about us feeding the bears. We met a bartender in Anchorage today who lost three friends to grizzly bear attacks. Thanks for the good wishes.

  8. Hi Trestin:
We've been here for less than a day and I can already see why people love it here. I hope you'll take the trip sometime.
As for Rule 5...I only use it as a "joke". This is the second time I've used it when taking a break for a vacation.

  11. Lady, you'll love it, but don't forget your mosquito repellent. Those buggers can carry you away.

I was there about 25 years ago with my father. We were there to King Salmon fish. I caught a 50 pounder. What a battle ... it lasted an hour. The way you got to where we were was to fly in by float plane and land. But when you got there it was TOP NOTCH.

We were 60 miles north west of Anchorage on the Yetna River. You can't find it on a map. It's one of the smaller rivers at only 1/2 mile wide ... go figure.

Thanks for the good wishes. It sure is beautiful.

    LSP:
Thank you...we are. Went white water rafting in III & IV rapids...what a blast!

    Odie:
We have the mosquito repellant, so we're ready. Thankfully, no real problems yet with bugs. The fishing trip you took sounds fantastic. We scheduled a float plane trip for next week...that's one of the adventures I'm leary of, but I will be brave.

    Euripedes:
You have a great imagination. Thanks for the good wishes.

    Maggie:
Put Alaska on your bucket list. It's one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Thanks for the good wishes.

  15. Well now I neva been to Alaska but I sorta come close once.

Bought me a Polar Bear skin rug from an Eskimo years ago, (just so'z I cud tie sum translucent Steelhead and Tarpon fishing flies and not cuz I wanted to see my baby butt pictured layin on one. ((not a Rule 5 picture folks would wanna see and you can trust me on that!)) and he sent a pic and invited me to come pick up the rug and rub noses.

Well dat dude looked like he had been around since the Mammoths became fossils, so'z I told him I cain't git away rite now, but that there Fed-Ex dealio will strap on the tire chains and haul dat rug to me.

I sure wasn't sure I wanted to go see Alaska after that.

But seein`z how my Mom took her Grandbabies onna cruise in July to go see the sights north of me and you checking thing's offen your bucket list maybe just maybe I gotta git away more.

jadedfellow here, in amanofwonder sorta way, say'z thanks to you for bringing my attention to Mr. West, Mr. Rubio and that Alaska thang ain't so bad once ya check it offen the list of the places folks can choose freely to go to.
