September 11, 2001 - Never Forget

Unlike many of you, we did not have a TV on September 11, 2001 to watch the atrocities taking place live before our eyes. We were on a boating trip with only a radio. We had to wait until the evening to see what had actually happened.

Tonight we were on the road listening to Fox News on Sirius radio when they aired their 9/11 special. It reminded me of that day 9 years ago listening to the accounts on the radio. Tonight, after we checked into a hotel, we watched the Fox News 9/11 special on TV. It is still a shock to see what happened to our country that day.

Short on time, I am linking to my post from last September 11th. There is one thing I would like to add...I'm am thankful George W. Bush was our President on that day.

The Conservative Lady: September 11, 2001 - May We Never Forget
On September 11, 2001 I was in Chesapeake City, DE returning from Baltimore on a boat trip with my husband and another couple. We didn't have a TV on the boat, so we didn't know what was going on that morning until we got to a little restaurant for breakfast.

The people in the restaurant were listening to a radio and the reports of a plane hitting the World Trade Center were being broadcast. Everyone was upset, but at the time we all thought it was a freak accident. Maybe a small plane went out of control.

Shortly after, someone yelled out that another plane had hit the second tower. At that moment it was obvious that it was a terrorist attack. And then we heard that the Pentagon was hit.

As we traveled back to NJ, we listened to the radio to try to keep up with what was happening. At one point we heard that a plane was missing. Although we prayed it had nothing to do with the earlier attacks, in our hearts we knew.

May we never forget what those barbarians did to us on that day.

May we keep vigilant so that it never happens again.

May our government do all in it's power to secure our safety.

God Bless those who lost their lives and their families left behind.

God Bless the first responders and those who worked so hard throughout the months afterward.

God Bless Our Troops who continue to fight for our safety and our freedoms.

God Bless America.

  1. I once told my Mom that we should all be grateful that AlGore didn't win the 2000 election.

I truly believe it was Divine intervention that gave us George W. Bush as our leader during that dark time.

Perhaps we should view Barack Hussein Obama in the same light, for the inspiration he has brought to the conservative movement, and the light he has shined on the need for common sense in a leader... but that's a topic for another day.

In the mean time... have a Blessed day.

  2. I'm thankful W. was our president that day, too, TCL. God only knows what hell we'd be living in Zero were in charge back then.

    Best, Snark.

  3. I watched that same special last night with my 17 year old son, who was really too young to remember much of what happened 9 years ago.
Fox did a wonderful job on the special---and it was nice to have it uninterrupted with no commercials.
I too am so incredibly grateful we had such a strong commander in chief at the time.

I have said the same thing about Algore and the the same thing about Obama. It's just too bad it took BHO and his perverted agenda to wake us up.
Say "hi" to your Mom for me!

  7. Hi Pedaling:
It was a wonderful special. We must share the story of that day with our children, so they will know what really happened and never forget it.

  10. We must teach our children and grands about 9/11/01. I doubt they will learn the truth in most schools. I was also thankful that G.W. was our President.

So true. The progressives have already re-written a lot of American history, so it's up to us to tell our kids the truth.
