Tehran Offers Escort to Gaza Flotilla - Israel Ready To Defend Itself

Nothing good will come of this.

Iran is adding more fuel to the fire by offering to send The Islamic Revolutionary Guards to escort the Gaza Flotilla.  In response, Israel states it will do whatever it takes to defend itself.

What will Obama do now?  Let me guess...NOTHING!

The Tehran Times report:

IRGC Navy ready to escort Gaza-bound aid convoys
Tehran Times Political Desk
TEHRAN -- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy is totally prepared to escort Gaza-bound aid ships to protect them against Israeli attacks, the Supreme Leader’s representative in the IRGC Navy has announced.
“Enemies should be met head-on through a spontaneous international movement, and we should foil their evil plots,” Hojjatoleslam Ali Shirazi told the Mehr News Agency on Sunday.

“The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy is ready to escort the peace and freedom convoys that carry humanitarian assistance for the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza with all its strength,” he added.

The IRGC follows Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s orders, and if he issues an order in this regard, the IRGC Navy will mobilize all its forces to provide security for Gaza-bound aid convoys, he stated

Fox News.com reports:

Israeli Ambassador: Israel Will Do 'Whatever It Takes' to Defend Itself

Israel will do "whatever it takes" to defend itself from terrorism, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. said Sunday, without elaborating what actions would be taken in the face of a potential Iranian Revolutionary Guard escort of ships to break through the blockade of Gaza.
Ambassador Michael Oren said Israel is "open to any ideas to somehow deal with the Gaza situation" but dropping the blockade is unlikely since that would mean allowing thousands of rockets to arrive in Hamas-controlled Gaza.
If Iran sends its elite military unit to escort any other ships -- as it has suggested it would -- "Israel will also do whatever it takes to defend itself from Hamas terror," Oren told "Fox News Sunday."
"Israel will do what it has to do to defend 7.5 million Israelis," he said.

  1. TCL,

I don't think anything good can come from this, but Israel has every right to defend itself!

We all know that BO will do absolutely nothing to help our Dear Friends from Israel!

Having been raised as a radical muslim he will do anything in his power to aid his muslim brothers.

This man is the worst thing to happen to These United States in the history of this Great Nation!

    Lock & Load!!!

  2. Well, I guess all I can say is "here we go!"

  3. While I hope that this is just saber rattling, I fear that the Muslim world is taking Obama's weakness for an excuse to attack Israel.

  4. Whatever Obama does in this situation, you can count on it to be the exact opposite of what he should be doing. That's a pretty good rule of thumb for his whole administration.

  5. Israel's only option is to show this as nothing more bothersome than a flea on a dog, issue a light hearted but deadly serious warning to Iran, but if the Iranian ships show up, they have to be ready to send them to the bottom of sea.

There is no other option for Israel. There is no other option for us either, but this Administration is working overtime to provide all the angst possible for the only Democracy in the Middle East.

  6. I never thought I would be concerned as I am now for the future of Israel. Its gone from having to deal with Hamas, to now having to deal with Iran and Turkey. (Knock on wood moment) But I am very concerned what the next 30 - 90 days is going to bring in this quickly developing set of circumstances. We could be on the verge of witnessing a great sorrow.

Israel must defend itself. Obama is not the only one in his administration that Israel should be concerned about. Hillary isn't much better.

I hope not, but it is not surprising that they have the "audacity" to make this offer. They see the USA not as supportive of Israel anymore.

Yep, I'm afraid you're right about that. Scary, isn't it?

Israel always had America to count on for being a friend and ally. Like I've said in another post comment...they must be feeling very alone right now.

I don't doubt that Israel will do what it must...of course unless Obama talks them out of it somehow.

  14. This looming crisis is what Gaza has always been about. Since the creation of the Palestine refugee camps (following yet another failed attack on Israel by the Arabs).
The Palestinians remain in their camps because of the refusal of their neighbours to resettle them, it is the Arabs that imprison them, not the Israelis, for the purpose of always having something to point at and complain.

Sadly for them the Jordanian camps created a crisis for Jordan while the Lebanese ones just added to that nations troubles.

How long did it take for Germany to resettle the tens of millions expelled from those territories ceded to Poland and Czechoslovakia following WW2? Not very long at all.

If the Arabs in general, and Egypt in particular, were genuinly concerned for the Palestinians they would have resettled them decades ago.

Thanks for this history. Unfortunately, people don't look to the history, they respond to what the perception is at the time.

  16. It's not history CL, it is here and now, planned for a long time and maybe about to blow.
