Now there's a guy who is exercising his First Amendment rights. Dr. Cassell isn't turning people away by asking them who they voted for...he's just making a statement.
"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."
Cassell, who previously served as chief of surgery at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, said a patient's politics would not affect his care for them, although he said he would prefer not to treat people who support the president.
"I can at least make a point," he said.
Fact is, Dr. Cassell is not the only urologist in Florida. People can go to someone else. It's still a free country...at least for right now.
I don't think Dr. Cassell is jeopardizing his Hippocratic Oath by posting this sign. Do you?

Doctor tells Obama supporters: Go elsewhere for health care
A Mount Dora doctor posted a sign telling Obama health care supporters to go elsewhere.
MOUNT DORA — A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere."
I LOVE this story. And the courage of this doctor.
ReplyDeleteHi Opie:
ReplyDeleteMe, too. I hope the Lefties don't egg his office like they did the Tea Party Express buses.
I love it too, but you know lefties - a bunch of them are going to scream about their "rights" and something about racism.
ReplyDeleteGood for him though! Would love my doctor to post something like that.
Blue-Eyes:
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he'll get some grief from this, but I give him kudos for speaking his mind. I bet there are a lot of docs who feel the same way.
Hi TCL! I love this doctor too! His video is great as well.
ReplyDeleteI was offline all weekend, so I didn't get to wish you and your family a very Happy & Blessed Easter.
I hope your week is wonderful with the spirit of the season.
Hi Bunni:
ReplyDeleteI heard that Alan Grayson is going after the doctor.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter.
