UPDATE: Rubio vs Crist...FL GOP Candidates for U.S. Senate...Tied 43-43 in Poll

UPDATE: Additional video.

Video via: Fox Tampa Bay

According to the Rasmussen Reports, Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist are in a dead heat in their poll.  Both are running in the FL GOP primary for U.S. Senate in August 2010.

Governor Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio are now tied in the 2010 race for the Republican Senate nomination in Florida.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely GOP Primary voters finds Crist and Rubio each with 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) prefer another candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.

A fellow blogger asked why I hadn't posted about my favorite candidate for US Senate, Marco Rubio, catching up to Gov. Crist in the polls.  Well, here it is.  Needless to say, I am very happy that 9 months before the primary, candidate Rubio has caught up to Gov. Crist...the candidate with the big bucks, the name recognition, and who had the "initial" endorsement of some high ranking GOP big wigs.  Happily, more and more Florida residents are becoming familiar with Mr. Rubio and his conservative viewpoints, and they like what they see.

My prediction:  RINO Crist is going to be defeated in the August Primary.  Democrat candidate, Kendrick Meek, is going to lose in the November 2010 General Election.  Both to Marco Rubio.

The following comments by Marco Rubio will give you an idea of why I am supporting his candidacy for US Senator from my state of Florida.

2.14.09 | Rubio Comments on Senate’s $1.1 Trillion Spending Bill & More Looming Spending

Miami, FL – U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio today issued the following statement regarding Sunday’s U.S. Senate vote in favor of a $1.1 trillion spending bill:

“Yesterday’s vote on a $1.1 trillion spending bill is the latest sign that Washington continues ignoring the American people by failing to reign in out-of-control spending. It is outrageous that businesses and families have to trim their budgets, while Congress continues wasting away their tax dollars on a bill like this with more than 5000 earmarks and pay increases for government workers.

“Unfortunately, this is only the latest example of a 2009 congressional spending spree that started with a $787 billion stimulus and may end with a $1 trillion health care plan. Americans are right to be gravely concerned about this continued spending with money our government simply doesn’t have.

“As Congress prepares to use its next spending bill to increase the nation’s debt limit and President Obama talks about spending America’s way out of recession with a second stimulus, lawmakers must come to grips with how their excessive spending today is threatening our fragile economy as well as the long-term future of our nation.

“Having expressed his openness to a second stimulus, Charlie Crist should learn from his mistake of endorsing the first stimulus and join me in slamming the door shut on another. The American people deserve leaders in Washington who will fight to end this culture of spending malpractice.”

There's been a lot of talk lately about "tea party candidates" polling higher than the "GOP candidates" and as a result giving wins to the "Democrat candidates".  You may even start to hear the state-controlled media (SCM) talking "nice" about "tea party candidates", which would be totally new and very deceptive.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.  The SCM will try to make you believe that a third party can win, thus hoping you will vote for a third party candidate in a general election.  Big mistake.

I am a Tea Party participant and a member of several grassroot organizations.  I DO NOT believe a third party is necessary.  I DO believe that "primary elections" are the place to choose the final candidates for a "general election".  A third party candidate (Tea Party or whatever) will split the vote and give the Dems a win.  So, the answer as far as I'm concerned, is to run "tea party and GOP" candidates in the primaries against each other and choose the most conservative candidate.  In other words, we must take over the Republican Party by running conservative candidates only.  No More RINOs.

Although Marco Rubio is not a "tea party candidate" per se, he is a conservative GOP candidate running against a RINO in a primary.  Exactly how it should work (IMHO).

I hope any FL residents reading this post (and all others who believe our Senate candidates should be of the "conservative" persuasion) will take some time to visit Marco Rubio's website and, if you like what you see, send him a campaign donation.  RINO Crist has big bucks, so anything you can send Rubio's way, I'm sure, will be greatly appreciated.

  1. GO TO PERSON
Every family should have a “go to” person who can give answers to political and issue concerns, as suggested by Rush Limbaugh. Learning how means starting at the roots, the beginnings and differences between two sides of the same coin, which is all there is. One side is long established, where the few rule the many, irrespective of their labels. The other side is the newest, that of individual freedom and limited government. Why do many follow each side, and why the conflict between them? What side do current issues come from, such as health care, cap and trade as well as amnesty for illegal immigrants? What side of the coin most impacts the lives of your family, to whom you provide the answers? Call up claysamerica.com for the roots of both sides and improve your understanding of the issues so you have the answers. Claysamerica.com

  2. Amen! NY 23 showed us what happens when there is s third party. Had that district held a primary for their special election there might have been a different result.

The GOP is out of touch with its base and we need the primaries in 2010 to show them just how far out of touch they are.

If NY23 had a primary, Mr. Hoffman would have won it and most probably the general election, too.
You're right about the GOP being out of touch. The 2010 elections are going to be very interesting!
