Nancy Pelosi Was Right

Nancy Pelosi was right...they had to pass ObamaCare to see what's in it.  It ain't pretty.

I have been noticing headlines detailing what ObamaCare will bring to us as time goes on.  I've posted a few of the headlines that include increased taxes on Americans.   One of the most interesting things I found is that ObamaCare is going to probably increase your pet's health care bills, too.

I've linked to several articles with a short blurb from each.  I'm sure there has been more written, but these will give you a feel for what coming.  Even the Democrats are now trying to delay some of the tax increases they voted for:

Democrats Seek Delay in One ObamaCare Tax Increase
The Obamacare tax increases which begin on New Year’s Day are:
  • A 2.3 percent tax on manufacturers and importers of medical devices.
  • A limit on the tax deductibility of medical expenses for people who pay some of their medical costs out of pocket.
  • A limit on tax-sheltered health flexible spending accounts.
  • An increase in the Medicare payroll tax on single earners making more than $200,000 and married couples making more than $250,000.
But some Senate Democrats are trying to delay at least for one year the tax on medical device manufacturers, which will raise nearly $2 billion in new revenue in 2013 and $20 billion over the next seven years.

Obamacare Pre-Existing Condition Fee To Cost Companies $63 Per Person
Your medical plan is facing an unexpected expense, so you probably are, too. It's a new, $63-per-head fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.
According to a rule published Friday by the Internal Revenue Service, some medical devices used in veterinary practices will be hit by Obamacare’s 2.3 percent device tax. Many of their manufacturers are expected to hike prices, meaning higher veterinary costs for the nation’s pet owners
Get ready to fill out Obamacare’s individual mandate tax form
Starting in 2014, most Americans will have to purchase “qualifying” health insurance. This insurance plan can be an employer-provided plan, a plan from the individual market, or a government plan like Medicare, Medicaid, and veterans’ care. What all these plans will have in common is that they must be approved as qualified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which will get to mandate what each plan must cover and how.
Failure to obtain qualifying coverage could result in payment of a tax penalty to the IRS. Depending on family size, the tax penalty will range from $695 to $2,085 (plus inflation). For many families, a higher penalty of 2.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI) will apply.
THANK YOU, OBAMACARE: FAMILIES PAY $3000 MORE FOR INSURANCE; OBAMA PROMISED $2500 DECREASE
The cost of health insurance today is more than 50% higher than Obama promised it would be--and the costs are expected to continue to rise as Obamacare is implemented.

5 New Obamacare Taxes Coming in 2013
The “fiscal cliff” debate is theater. No one can be sure of what is going to happen come Jan. 1.  President Obama’s 2010 health reform law, however, is certain to change the tax code in 2013. Starting next year, five new tax increases will begin to raise $258.2 billion in new revenue over seven years.

  3. affordable care act. will cost three times as much and far fewer people will be able to get timely health care if at all. Yea, Roberts, that one was stunning. I may seriously vote for democrats just so there is no question who fubar'd this country. I mean, once the SC is unquestionably liberal, what's left to try to do anyway.

Wing stall. Point it toward the ground and throttle up.

  4. It's too bad that I will probably not live to see the correction that inexorably must take place in our country. Spending money we don't have in perpetuity, eventually the chickens come home to roost. I suspect it will continue to kick the can down the road until I croak, but unfortunately my 11 year old daughter will be left with a society that more closely resembles Kevin Costner's "The Postman," with a blood thirsty post apocalyptic murdering General Bethlehem in charge of what remains of our nation.

I'm not a gun nut, but it probably wouldn't hurt to own one when that time comes, along with plenty of ammo. As they say, it's much preferable to have a gun and not need it, rather than need a gun and not have it.
