UPDATE: Lord Monckton Speaks on Rio+20 - Hillary Rescues RIO+20 U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development

Since my previous post was about the RIO+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development and Agenda 21, I thought I should follow up with what Hilliary Clinton promised to the world in her speech yesterday in Brazil.  Apparently, if not for Secretary Clinton, the RIO+20 Conference would have been a bust.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's speech at the RIO+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Brazil is13 minutes long and in it she pledges America's support to Global Sustainable Development by announcing a "new initiative".  She also defends women's reproductive rights.

Speaking of women's reproductive rights...I watched another video from the conference (I know, I must be nuts).  It was about population (control) and in it the woman speaking was promoting that a woman have her first child later in life so that she doesn't have too many of them.  I had a thought...I wonder if the Islamic jihadists believe in women's reproductive rights...but I digress.

Environmental activists are not happy with the results of the RIO+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Brazil this week, calling it a hoax.  I guess they don't think things are moving fast enough.

This article from Think Progress gives us the impression that, but for U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her "new initiative",  RIO+20 Conference wasn't the success that they had hoped it would be:
"Opportunities to bring together political leaders in this context happen so rarely, this summit is correctly perceived as a missed opportunity,” said Manish Bapna, executive vice president of the World Resources Institute, speaking about the official document coming out of Rio.
Bapna said he was excited to see new initiatives coming out of Rio like the one announced by Clinton today. But he lamented that the official document from the summit has “few deadlines, few numbers, with very little that is truly concrete.”
But just what is Hillary's "new initiative"?
In an effort to break the clouds and show that the U.S. has done something other than commit to weak aspirational goals, Clinton was in Rio today to announce a new U.S. initiative to leverage private financing for clean energy projects in Africa. The partnership, which includes the State Department, the Overseas Private Investment Corp., and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, will provide $20 million in grants to business owners in Africa to help leverage hundreds of millions in private financing.“This initiative is part of an across the board push to make clean energy and energy security cornerstones of our foreign policy,” said Clinton, speaking at a side event before her speech to the full conference.Clinton then highlighted other key initiatives supported by the U.S., including a partnership with Brazil on developing sustainable cities, an international program to stop deforestation, and $2 billion in commitments to the UN’s Sustainable Energy For All program.
America to the rescue.

Here's another example of America's role in promoting "global sustainable development".  Remember when President Obama made the speech where he encouraged Brazil to drill for oil and that America would be one of their best customers?  America (the rich country) decides not to drill for oil and encourages others to do it for them and then pays for it.

"Sustainable Development" explains a lot of what President Obama has been doing as far as not drilling for oil here in America and promoting green energy initiates.  Unfortunately, he's spending inordinate amounts of tax payer dollars on green energy initiatives with little success.

As for Mitt Romney's stance on President Obama's green energy initiatives...Al Gore is criticizing him, so that must be good.

Lord Monckton's take on the Rio +20 U.N. Conference:
RIO DE JANEIRO — Lord Christopher Monckton told The New American in an exclusive interview Saturday that the United Nations' Rio+20 conference that concluded the day before was not about saving the planet from environmental devastation or about eradicating poverty. Instead, he said, it was about shackling the planet under a global government. He also optimistically stressed that the "pointy heads here in Rio" have failed despite their declaration of success and that "the game is up."  Read more...

  1. For some reason I wasn't able to hear the Hillary video either on your blog or on the Ustream site. $20 million for clean energy projects in Africa? Geesh, this administration sure doesn't mind wasting money, taxpayers money.

    1. No kidding. I wonder who President Obama is going to borrow the $20 Billion from for the "UN Sustainable Energy for All" program.

It's funny, but the audio works sometimes and doesn't at other times. I have more problems with it when using the Chrome browser, but it seems to work better using Internet Explorer.

  2. The audio worked for me... DAMN!!! I also made the mistake of going full screen, she's no bottle of wine... (not improving with age) These people are out of their freaking minds... Aside from kicking Obama back to Chicago, stopping Agenda 21 has to top the list...

    1. Odie, I hope we can avoid the worst of this. At least we know they are out there lurking around with their nasty agenda. There's a chance they can be stopped.
