With great freedom, comes great responsibility. America was founded by men of great faith who trusted the people to select their leaders diligently, and in turn, trusted lawmakers to serve the greater good and aspire to the highest of moral standards.

In order to govern effectively, our Congress must be held accountable not just to the people, but also to a higher power. Congress swears before our Creator to protect and uphold the Constitution, and no one should be above the law, especially not our public servants.

Unfortunately, in recent years Congress has acted time and again to excuse themselves from the very legislation they pass. We saw this recently in Obama and Pelosi's government takeover of health care. Lawmakers were unwilling to give up their platinum Congressional health insurance plans for the public option they were pushing on everyone else. They were also unwilling to vote down their "automatic" pay raise at a time when many working families were tightening their belts. After 16 years in Washington, Lloyd Doggett has exposed himself as part of the problem, not part of the solution.

As a woman of faith, I have pledged to serve God as well as the laws of the land. Because of this commitment, you can count on me to strive for honesty and integrity in defending the God-granted rights of every American individual. I promise as long as I'm elected to never pass any law that doesn't affect me and my family in the exact same manner it affects you and your family. Should I fail, you have every right to remove me from office.

If you've been hesitant to donate to a candidate outside of your state or district, think again.  The people in the Senate and in the House of Representatives vote on issues that affect each and every one of us.  If we don't get the right people in ALL of those jobs on Capitol Hill, we will ALL suffer the consequences.

Ten Buck Fridays is a grassroots effort you can participate in to help candidates across the country.  You get to help good, common sense, conservative candidates win in elections that affect our future.  It's something we can do NOW to make a difference.

  3. As an Illinoian, those sentiments almost want to make me move to Texas.

I used to instruct at Goodfellow Air Force base in San Angelo, TX, and I loved it there, although at the time I could not quite put my finger as to why; it was pretty hot most of the year, and blustery, dusty and windy the remainder.

I think I know why now. Conservatives live in Texas.

TBF is making us aware of all of the great candidates around the country. I've never been so involved in an election and it's very rewarding.
