UPDATE: Video Added - American Revival: Hope

If you read my earlier post on attending the "American Revival", you know that I was planning to post on each segment of the show.  Glenn's theme for the Revival is "Faith, Hope and Charity".

David L. Buckner did the presentation on "Hope".

David L. Buckner is the President of Bottom Line Training and Consulting Inc., a consulting and training firm specializing in executive management development and business acumen training with a consultative focus on cultural integration, change management, and strategic efficiency modeling.
A keynote speaker, an in-demand economic analyst for several television networks, as well as a an Adjunct Faculty member at Columbia University, David is based in New York City.

(You may remember Mr. Buckner as the man who fainted on the Glenn Beck TV Show.  Hate to mention it, but that may help people remember who he is.)

Mr. Buckner's presentation centered around the economics.  He offered several view graphs with some very disturbing information.  Here are 2 of them:

Mr. Buckner did a text poll of the audience and asked our thoughts on the country's economic future.
Results:
9%   -   Optimisitic
80% -   Pessimistic
11%  -  Unsure

He showed this video. (Ignore the advertisement at the end.) The video speaks for itself. What we are being told is to "Stop"..."Do Not Think".

Mr. Buckner listed the 5 Financial Fallacies:

1.  It's never happened before.
2.  It's always been done this way.
3.  Everyone else is doing it.
4.  The experts say..."Why would you question them."
5.  Trust us..."We will take care of you."

This is HOPE:

Hope:  It all begins here.

Ownership:  Take control of the process.

Prepare:  Avoid the 5 financial fallacies (above).

Education & Engagement:  From knowledge... to Action.

One view graph included these words:

"We must never despair; our situation has been compromising before; so I trust it will again.  If difficulties arise; we must put forth new exertion and proportion our efforts to the exigencies of the times."
...George Washington

Below is an article from the "American Revival" Binder.  The article is entitled, "The Progressive Assault on the American Constitution" and it was written by Ronald J. Pestritto, Ph.D.  Enjoy it and pass it on.

You can make the document full screen by clicking on the top right hand corner arrow icon.  There are 5 pages and you can zoom in to make them more legible.

Update:

The next "American Revival" will be held in Phoenix, AZ on April 10, 2010. If you are able, I would highly recommend attending this event. The speakers are knowledgeable and the presentations are entertaining while teaching you things you probably never knew. Click here for more information.

  1. Excellent Post! This was a good explanation of Progressivism and where the ideas originated. It also gave good ways to combat and stop the progressive infection within our country. Thanks for sharing.

A very "hopeful" day. I "hope" whoever can attend the Phoenix event will do it this weekend. It may be the last one.
