UPDATE: Video Added - American Revival: Charity

If you read my earlier post on attending the "American Revival", you know that I was planning to post on each segment of the show.  Glenn's theme for the Revival is "Faith, Hope and Charity".

The presentation on "Charity" was done by the Hon. Andrew P. Napolitano.
Andrew P. Napolitano joined FOX News Channel in May 1998, and currently serves as a senior judicial analyst.
Napolitano is the youngest life-tenured Superior Court Judge in the history of the State of New Jersey. While on the bench from 1987-95, Judge Napolitano tried over 150 jury trials, and sat in all parts of the Superior Court — Criminal, Civil, Equity and Family.
For eleven years, Napolitano served as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School, where he taught constitutional law and jurisprudence. He returned to private law practice in 1995, the same year he began his career in broadcasting.
Napolitano received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame.
His most recent book is Lies the Government Told You:  Myth, Power, and Deception in American History.

The Judge began his talk with a few jokes and went on a roll from there.  He covered a multitude of subjects including natural law (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness), the Constitution, the Bill of Rights (focusing on the 9th & 10th Amendments), the Alien & Sedition Act, the Espionage Act and the Patriot Act.  Even though we had been sitting there for hours, Judge Napolitano kept our attention with his interesting and entertaining presentation.  He is a great speaker and provided a wealth of knowledge in a clear, precise and fun manner.

-Miscellaneous highlights:
-We have the right to be left alone.
-The Government doesn't like the 9th & 10th Amendments.
-The states created the Federal Government, not the other way around.
-It's impossible to be charitable with other people's money.

-When Judge Napolitano asked Congressman Jim Clyburn...where in the Constitution the Congress is authorized to regulate healthcare...Congressman Clyburn answered that most of what they do in Washington is not authorized by the Constitution.

It's impossible for me to recount Judge Napolitano's entire presentation here, but at the end of the post I've included a great article he wrote that will give you the basic content of his talk.  It's a wonderful history lesson, so please take a few minutes to read it.

I am going to stray a bit from the "American Revival" event and include a video of Judge Napolitano that may give us some HOPE that ObamaCare can be repealed. The interview was done by Ashley Martella at NewsMax:

Below is an article from the "American Revival" Binder.  The article is entitled, "Whatever Happened to State's Rights" and it was written by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano.  Enjoy it and pass it on.

Update:

Today Glenn is holding the "American Revival" in Phoenix, AZ. I hope everyone who was able had a chance to attend. If you attended the Phoenix event, please comment and let us all how it went and if you enjoyed it. And if you attended the Orlando event on March 27th, please feel free to add your thoughts, too.

  1. This an appropriate time to let you know this since this blog post is about Charity. You said you made a donation to the Lynch campaign. Most people don't know but the election for the house seat that formerly belonged to Robert Wexler will be this Tuesday. Ed Lynch appreciates all donations made to his Congressional Campaign. Here is a part of an e-mail I got the other day from on of the heads of the Campaign: "I don't know if you've read, but early voting is up 136% from the primary. Since Independents can't vote in the primary, we believe this is great news for our campaign!" As an insider in the Campaign, I am allowed to say this much: The is the logic behind that view as one would expect a Republican to hope for a low turnout. This election will be strange as Lynch is hoping for high Dem turnout because the vast majority of Dems in the Lynch district are older Jewish folks. They are furious with Obama over reductions in medicare and snubbing Netanyahu last week. Since midterm congressional elections are usually a referendum on the President and the State of the nation, this is a good thing. Oddly, the Dem candidate has taken all of his campaign signs down near Jewish areas. This district is usually a slam dunk "blue district" that is too close to call at this point.
Also, just so you know that supported the right candidate here is one more tidbit. Ed Lynch while campaigning full time, read the Obamacare law in it's entirety and played a very major role in the language of the Florida Lawsuit against Obamacare that so many other states have signed on to in total secret from everyone in his campaign. (So even if Ed loses this election, he will still be very valuable to us all in the days to come). Ed also supported me in other endeavors while I was supporting his opponent in a highly contested Primary that Ed won by only 37 votes. Some bitter people that supported Ed's opponent swore during the primary that they would not support Ed in this campaign but changed their minds after the fact. I said then as I say now that this was petty partisan bickering that accomplished nothing. Ed never resorted to such tactics, and there is something to be said for taking the high road in such matters
Thank you for your very valuable charitable contribution to the Lynch Campaign. Some people talk about "Charity", others live it, and you are one of the latter.

  2. Hi Andrew:
Thanks for the kind words. I hope Mr. Lynch is successful in winning the house seat. We need conservatives elected to Congress, just as Rep. Pence said in his speech to the Southern Republican Leadership Conference I included in a post today. We all must do our part to help that become a reality. Even if it's only a small financial donation to a campaign, discussions with our friends, posting to our blogs and Facebook, donating our time and effort...it all makes a difference.
Thanks for letting everyone know about Mr. Lynch by posting about him in your blog. I would not have known about him otherwise...so see, it works!

  3. I ended up not attending the event today, nor the race tonight.

Instead I was under my car, pulling the drive shaft and replacing u-joints.

Great fun.. not. But it needed to be done and I had someone available to help me today so I took advantage. Good learning experience too.

I figure he'll probably release one of the events as a DVD. I know it's not the same as being there, but it'll offer some of the same information.

  4. Hey Sol,
Good reason not to attend. When you have help available to do something important, you have to take advantage of it. I'm sure Beck will eventually either put it out on DVD or maybe even do a series on his TV show. I don't think he's made up his mind whether to have another event or not. I am going to post more of the articles from the binder in the future. Lots of good stuff in there.
As for the race...hubby has it on. I haven't been paying attention, but he just told me Kyle Bush is in the lead. Not my fave. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by.
