Why ObamaCare Is Worth The Price For Democrats

President Barack Obama, center, speaks about health care reform, Wednesday, March 3, 2010. in the East Room of the White House in Washington.

This is an excellent article by Mark Steyn explaining why it is worth it to the Dems to shove ObamaCare down our throats even at the risk of losing their majorities in November.  It's a set up for the future, where even when the conservatives are in power, the real power will still lie with the statists.

Mark Steyn: Obamacare worth the price to Democrats
So there was President Obama, giving his bazillionth speech on health care, droning yet again that "now is the hour when we must seize the moment," the same moment he's been seizing every day of the week for the past year, only this time his genius photo-op guys thought it would look good to have him surrounded by men in white coats.

  2. We'll see what kind of steel the GOP has after November. Obama got where he is by lying like a dog as to what he intends to do to the country.

Now he is lying like a dog to every congressmen whose ear he can find. Recall, all of that lying convinced 54% of the voting public last year. He'll convince enough stupid Democrats that once they sign the senate bill, he'll ammend it to say whatever that particular congressman wants to hear, and they will believe him.

It'll pass. Then the double cross is in play, he'll forget everything he told everyone, and start lying about something else that will destroy our country (making illegals legal would be my bet).

Rolling it back. It's never been done. I wonder if this is the time we find some steel in what has been in the past jelly filled spines.

I get the feeling that the public is ready to roll up the sleeves if this thing passes. For the first time.

  3. Hi Fredd:
I heard on Rush's show today that the GOP will try to stop any abortion coverage changes that would pacify Stupek. This would force Stupek and his anti-abortion Dem friends from voting FOR the bill.
I am of the belief that Barry, Nancy and Harry will convince the Dems in the House to vote for the Senate bill because they will make the needed changes in reconciliation. But after they sign the bill, it will go up to Obama "as is" for signature into law.
You're right...the lies being told by the WH are standard operating procedure.

  4. I agree, that the Dems have more to gain if they pass Obamacare.

OPie's right. We are fighting for the heart and soul of America.

But, I also think if it is passed that if the GOP gains majorities in both the House and Senate between both the 2010 and 2012 elections, plus regains the presidency than the bill can be repealed. Or a suit could be broght before the Supreme Court?

Granted I agree that we must keep fighting to make sure that this bill doesn't pass. This bill is the ruination of America.

  5. Hi Teresa:
I pray you are right. I heard that if ObamaCare does get passed, the GOP will run on repealing it. Let's hope they keep their word.

  6. "...Right-of-center parties will once in a while be in office, but never in power, merely presiding over vast left-wing bureaucracies that cruise on regardless."
Describes exactly what will happen in UK if, as seems likely, fake conservative Dave cameron wins this years election.

This is my own view of socialised healthcare in Britain
The UK National Health Service was created 50 years ago by nationalising pre-existing charitable, municipal and religious health services that were available to 95%+ of the population (often through Union dues).
It was launched on a huge wave of public goodwill but has slowly gone downhill ever since, swamped by the biggest bureaucracy in Europe, the only institutions that employ more people are the Chinese Red Army, Wal-Mart and the Indian Railways.

It is financed by theft of income called National Insurance.

Its main policy is 'rationing by waiting list'; things are pretty good on the front line but they make you wait ages before getting there in the hopes that you get better, go private or just die.

You're right. Social security, Medicare and Medicaid, big social programs, have never been repealed. They are bankrupting our country.
