September 11, 2001 - May We Never Forget

On September 11, 2001 I was in Chesapeake City, DE returning from Baltimore on a boat trip with my husband and another couple. We didn't have a TV on the boat, so we didn't know what was going on that morning until we got to a little restaurant for breakfast.

The people in the restaurant were listening to a radio and the reports of a plane hitting the World Trade Center were being broadcast. Everyone was upset, but at the time we all thought it was a freak accident. Maybe a small plane went out of control.

Shortly after, someone yelled out that another plane had hit the second tower. At that moment it was obvious that it was a terrorist attack. And then we heard that the Pentagon was hit.

As we traveled back to NJ, we listened to the radio to try to keep up with what was happening. At one point we heard that a plane was missing. Although we prayed it had nothing to do with the earlier attacks, in our hearts we knew.

May we never forget what those barbarians did to us on that day.

May we keep vigilant so that it never happens again.

May our government do all in it's power to secure our safety.

God Bless those who lost their lives and their families left behind.

God Bless the first responders and those who worked so hard throughout the months afterward.

God Bless Our Troops who continue to fight for our safety and our freedoms.

God Bless America.

Personal note:
We're headed to Washington tomorrow for the 9/12 March on DC.  Please keep us all in your prayers for safe travel, good weather, a huge turnout and for getting our message out.  See you in a few days.

  7. I'm going down my blogroll and commenting on all of the 9-11 posts. All of them remind me of what depth of character all of you have. Some of us are serious, some use sarcasm, some get angry and rant. But when something is important, we are of one accord.

Good luck and God's speed to DC.

  8. Excellent blog, please keep up the fight, we must NOT let the lefties get their way.
We must stand up to Obama the way that Joe Wilson did.

  9. the left wing should worry more about their future then that of Joe Wilson. he'll be just fine. but i guess when you have the likes of charlie rangel, chris dodd, barne frank to name a few in the left wing, you are desperate to take on any diversion you can. socialist wil do or say anything to get what they want. 2010 is coming.
