A comment from a blog reader came in this morning regarding the "Buy American" clause being debated in the stimulus bill. After doing a little research, I found there is quite a bit of debate over the issue. My first instinct is to "Buy American" materials for all "tax payer funded" projects resulting from the stimulus package. After reading a few articles concerning the issue, I found that there is an argument that limiting these purchases to U.S. companies could cause problems with retaliation from other countries and breaches in U.S. Trade commitments.
